Draft for review. This is a plain-English summary of how Proptiva Africa handles your data. It will be reviewed by counsel before public launch and may be updated. If you have specific privacy questions today, email

Who we are
Proptiva Africa ("Proptiva", "we", "our") is a property-operations service for diaspora property owners. We act as your in-country property operator: we coordinate inspections, construction, security, tenant matters, document custody, and payments on your behalf.
What information we collect
- Account details — your name, email, phone, country of residence, and password (stored as a one-way hash by our authentication provider, Supabase).
- Property information — addresses, photos, documents, work requests, project updates, invoices, and payment records for properties you ask us to manage.
- Communications — messages you send to your Proptiva support thread, and the responses our staff send back.
- Device information — when you use our mobile app, we register a push notification token for your device so we can send you updates.
- Payment information — when you pay an invoice, payment is processed by Paystack. We store the resulting reference and status, but card details are held by Paystack, never by us.
How we use your information
- To deliver the services you've asked for — inspections, construction supervision, document custody, payments.
- To send you notifications about your properties: site updates, invoices, messages, approvals required.
- To verify your identity when you sign in or recover your account.
- To improve the service and respond to your questions.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Who can see your data
- You see your own properties, requests, payments, documents, and messages.
- Authorised Proptiva staff (administrators and operations team) can see all client data to do their job. Vendor accounts can only see properties assigned to them.
- Access is enforced by row-level security rules in our database — these are technical controls, not just policy.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored with Supabase (Postgres database, file storage, authentication). Supabase hosts data on cloud infrastructure that uses encryption at rest and in transit. Payments are processed by Paystack. Push notifications are delivered by Expo. We do not maintain our own servers beyond these vendors.
Your rights
- Access — you can see your data inside the portal and the mobile app at any time.
- Correction — you can update your profile and property records yourself, or ask us to.
- Deletion — you can ask us to close your account and delete your data. We may retain records required by law (e.g. transaction history for tax or anti-fraud purposes) for as long as required.
- Portability — on request, we'll give you a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent — for push notifications, in your device settings; for email, by replying to ask.
To exercise any of these rights, email jay.adewole@gmail.com.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and you have property under our management. After you close your account, we retain operational and financial records for up to seven years where required by Nigerian tax and anti-money-laundering rules, and delete everything else.
Security
Passwords are hashed. Connections to the portal and app use HTTPS. Database access is restricted by row-level security policies. Payment cards never touch our systems. We work to keep your data safe, but no online service is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and keep your sign-in details private.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change. The effective date at the top shows when the current version became active. We'll let you know about material changes by email.
